Sumner Redstone

Sumner Redstone was an American businessman who transformed his family’s movie-theater company, National Amusements, into a major entertainment empire. Through National Amusements, he built controlling interests in Viacom and CBS and expanded into film studios, television networks, and other media businesses. A Harvard-trained lawyer and former World War II codebreaker, Redstone became known for his aggressive dealmaking and the maxim “content is king.”
