Andrea M. Ghez

Andrea M. Ghez is an American astronomer and UCLA astrophysics professor whose observational research tracks stars orbiting the Milky Way’s center. Her work provided decisive evidence for the supermassive black hole known as Sagittarius A*, earning her a share of the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics. She has also advanced high-resolution imaging techniques used to study black holes and galactic evolution.
